The Bergen County Wildcats are a team of special needs athletes based in Waldwick, NJ. We are made up of special needs athletes from around the Bergen County area that range in ages from 8 to adult that compete in a variety of sports including volleyball, floor hockey, bowling, basketball and softball. In addition, we participate in the Special Olympics NJ Fall Festival, Winter and Summer Games. During the various seasons, the athletes practice there particular sport at area locations and then compete on weekends against teams from around the State. The games are usually held in central New Jersey in and around Princeton / Lawrenceville.

The major goal of the Wildcats is to have special needs athletes to participate and compete with and against others and belong to a team. This participation increases self-esteem and independence and gives the athletes a true sense of belonging. It is staffed by trained volunteers and dedicated parents.

The team is completely funded through private donations of money and time from individuals and groups. The Bergen County Wildcats Program is a non-profit charitable organization under section 501(c)(3) of the IRC. All donations are tax deductible to the extent permitted by law.
