The Wildcats conclude the summer season by participating in
the SONJ Summer Games.
In 2011, over 2,300 athletes competed in a variety of events. In addition to the actual athletic competition,
the athletes were also exposed to a variety of events including opening ceremonies,
a wellness village and sports park. The Wildcats participated only in the softball
competition, however, some of the athletes that participate with the Wildcats
in other sports compete in individual sports on their own initiative.

Member of the Wildcats greeted by officers of the NJ law enforcement community at the opening ceremonies at the 2011 SONJ Summer Olympics Games.

The games are opened with an extravagant ceremony very similar
to those seen at the real Olympics. The ceremony begins with a procession
of law enforcement officers followed by the posting of the colors (flags).
The athletes then enter the arena in mass by county/area. Each group is lead
in by a ceremonial law enforcement honor guard. The games are opened when the torch is run into
the arena and the cauldron is lit. The torch lighting is the final leg of
the Law Enforcement Torch Run which in 2010 had been
carried by over 2,700 officer over 900 miles and raised over $2.6 million.
